Description of adhesive
One-component polyurethane adhesive is used as a binder for the manufacture of molded resilient-elastic products (sheets, paving stones, tiles, mats) based on rubber and/or rubber crumb by cold pressing.

Features
The surface of the rubber coating may turn yellowish from exposure to sunlight. A change in shade is not a sign of deterioration, loss of strength and durability.
Manufacturing technology of molded products
- Load crumb rubber into mixer, add color pigment (if necessary). Stir for 15 minutes to break up lumps and distribute pigment.
- Add adhesive in the amount of 9-12% of the total mass of crumb rubber and pigment. Stir for at least 5 minutes. The adhesive should cover the crumb evenly. Recommended temperature range with stirring: +15 -25 °C.
- Spread the working mixture evenly over the molds using shovels or spatulas.
- Place molds under the press in case of molds or compact the mixture if molds are open.
- Place the molds in a drying chamber with high humidity and a temperature of 60 - 80 °C. Hold for 4 - 6 hours. To accelerate curing, you can add water to the mixture up to 0.5-1.5% by weight.
- After drying, remove the finished products from the molds and place them in a specially designated place for final curing and relaxation at room temperature for 24 hours.
- After completion of work, the tool must be cleaned with organic solvents. Cured adhesive is removed from the instrument mechanically.
The operational properties of the finished molded products depend on the quality of raw materials, equipment, fractional composition and purity of crumb rubber, correct determination of processing parameters, temperature and relative humidity of air in the production area, and personnel qualifications. The ratio of the binder to the crumb, the pressing temperature, the holding time of the product in the mold, the pressure in the mold are determined empirically.
Problem resolution
- Crystallization of adhesive (loss of white flakes or clots) during storage at temperatures below + 15 °C. It is necessary to heattheglue to + 60 °C and stir for 1 hour.
- Formation of a polymer film on the adhesive surface. It is necessary to remove the film and stir the adhesive.
- Excessive foaming of the adhesive due to moisture ingress. Dry the crumb and base.
- Insufficient adhesion to the surface. It is necessary to remove the poor-quality coating, dust the surface of the base, clean it of debris, apply a primer, reapply the mixture of adhesive and crumbs.
Safety precautions
It is imperative to use personal protective equipment when working: respiratory protection, special clothing that covers all parts of the body, gloves, shoes. Provide good ventilation in closed rooms.
Storage Recommendation
Shelf life 6 months at a temperature of +15 - +30 °C without opening the barrels. If the material was not completely consumed, it is necessary to tightly close the container, wrap the lid with stretch film. When reopening, a polymer film may form on the surface, it must be removed and the material thoroughly mixed.
